This is primarily a stability update. All known memory leaks are plugged and the backing store provider framework is pretty solid now. You can use this release without much worry of crash or memory hogging.
Use the Get-StoreItemTracker
command to view statistics on objects created, disposed, finalized and still living (possibly waiting for GC and/or finalization). SharePoint objects wrap COM objects and eat much resources, so this is an invaluable way to keep track of leaks. You may also append the Dispose-Object
command to the end of any pipeline work.
